Antara Raman (she/her)

Hey! I’m Antara, an Indian illustrator based in Cambridge. There are many wonderful things that inspire me to create, but history, animals and sarcastic British humour are my mainstays. My creativity can only be unlocked when I make a mess, so naturally I love to work with media such as paint and printmaking. I believe that the unpredictability of fluid media lends itself well to the humour in my books. The MA has taught me the value of experimentation and happy accidents – “Ugly work” is not a phrase in my dictionary anymore!

When I’m not making books, you can find me crocheting furiously, moodily plucking away at my electric guitar or rocking out to my record collection.

Furlock

Nothing and no one escapes the notice of Furlock. A picture book about a highly unlikely but acutely intuitive detective in the making.
