Heike Scharrer (she/her)

Hello! I am a freelance illustrator with a background in film design and fine art. Drawing in sketchbooks the weird and wonderful facets of urban everyday life has been a strong impulse for my work, which includes narrative and non-fiction picturebooks, chapter books, illustration for film and handprinted commissions.

I experiment with techniques such as lithography, screenprint, monoprint and risography and customise my approach to each project. I am passionate about dance and delving into past and distant worlds, raiding flea markets and junk shops. I live in London with my two children, their imaginary guinea pig and chicken.

The Queue

Queuing can be boring, but sometimes a shimmering raindrop or a snuffling dog may make it worthwhile and even lead to new friends.
