Rose Grover (she/her)

Hello! I’m Rose, I live by the beach in Brighton where I like to collect stones with faces in them.

I have a passion for people, which has led me to explore everyday moments, situations, and feelings within my illustration. I am heavily inspired by observations of real life, so my sketchbooks are full of drawings of real people which then often find their way into one of my stories.

My studies on the MA have solidified a love for capturing enigmatic characters using inks and paints. Using humour is important to me to create engaging everyday heroes we can empathise and connect with.

The Great Day at the Beach

'The Great Day at the Beach’ is a picture book telling a warm and humorous tale about everything that could (and does) go wrong on a family trip. ‘A perfect little book’ - Martin Salisbury.

Growing Pains

‘Growing Pains’ tells a story of growing up as the youngest sibling, and how their older siblings aren’t always as horrid as they may think.

Honest Olive

‘Honest Olive’ is a fun, moralistic story about Olive, a well-meaning child who tells a lie that comes to life and causes her trouble. It was awarded Highly Commended in the Macmillan Prize for Illustration in 2023.
