Xinyi Bi (she/her)

Hi, I'm Xinyi Bi, an illustrator, designer, and picture book maker based in the UK. Holding a BA in Visual Communication Design from the China Academy of Art, I embarked on my publishing journey, specializing in picture books, novelty books, editorial illustrations, and graphic designs. I completed my MA in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art in 2024. My work has been recognized with Second Place in The Macmillan Prize and Runner up in The Batsford Prize.

My artwork reflects my connection with nature and the world around us. Skilled in both traditional and digital mediums, I enjoy creating pieces that are imaginative and metaphorical, with vibrant colors, rich details and textures. I always find great joy and healing in traveling and sketching. Having created hundreds of sketches on my journeys, these activities constantly inspire my creativity. I am also enthusiastic about exploring art across various disciplines.
