I love the natural environment and animals both tame and wild. My stories are inspired by my own experiences, observations of everyday life and environmental issues.

Born in Singapore, I graduated with a degree in Communication Studies from Nanyang Technological University in 2005 and worked in television, telling stories as a video editor before deciding to pursue illustration formally through this MA.

This course has pushed my personal creative practice in ways I could never have dreamed with its focus on observational drawing (which I adore) and experimentation. I enjoy working in mixed media, using gouache, pencils and ink.

It might sound a bit idealistic but I want to make picture books that inspire children to think about how their actions impact the world they live in. But at the end of the day, nothing makes me happier than having my illustrations bring a smile to someone’s face.
