I am a Polish artist, born in Warsaw. In my early twenties I moved to the UK to study BA Illustration and Animation at Cambridge School of Art and started my Master’s course in Children’s Book Illustration shortly after. In my work I’m trying to combine my love of folk tales and traditional art techniques with a keen eye for nature and atmosphere. I like illustrating chapter books and the stories I grew up with, filling sketchbooks with characters and make artwork through exploration of printmaking techniques or drawing. What interests me is how to make most of the relationship between layout and an image and how to compliment and extend meaning of the words without showing too much that already have been said in the written text.
