My name is Jane Peters and I am from London. As a child I would carry a box of watercolours and paint where I could. This led me to do a degree in Illustration at Loughborough University, it is here where I discovered the print-room. I would spend my days etching away, I became fascinated by all the wonderful textures, tones and marks that could be made in that room. Eventually I returned to painting.

I like to explore the underlying themes and moods within a story and bring them to life. Working in watercolour I paint in a fluid way, juxtaposing areas of detail with areas where paint is left to behave freely at its own accord, just like with printmaking it is these unpredictabilities that I love.
