My career as an illustrator began in 1997 after graduating from Columbus College of Art and Design in the United States. Upon returning to Puerto Rico, where I was born and raised, I started working for El Nuevo Día, a daily newspaper where I illustrated for their feature daily and weekly sections including the weekly children's magazine, which sparked my interest in illustrating books for children. Since then, I have illustrated children's books for Everest in Spain, SM in Puerto Rico, McGraw-Hill, The University of Puerto Rico Press and also independent and local publishers.  Some of these have won recognition from Latino Book Awards and Publisher's West in the USA, and the PEN club, Puerto Rico Chapter, among others. In 2016, the SCBWI- British Isles, included me as one of three shortlisted illustrator winners for the Beginning, Middle, End Illustration Competition.
