Since graduating with a degree in Visual Communications in 2000 I’ve been working as a digital designer, yet working solely digitally didn’t satisfy my creative needs.
Joining the MA gave me the chance to get back into traditional techniques in the print room, dedicating some proper time to drawing from life and finding my creative voice. I love observing people and everyday scenarios and bringing this into my artwork.
I really enjoy the experimental process and often end up using textures from this stage in final artwork, and using my digital skills to layer and compose. My background in design has also influenced my illustration work through the use of bold shapes and page layout.
