Anantjeet Kaur

(She/Her)

Growing up in Delhi, India, Anantjeet began her career in graphic design and branding, but a deep love for books, and a desire to see her community authentically represented nudged her toward the world of children’s literature.

While she initially practiced in the digital medium, she has reignited her passion for tangible media, experimenting with printmaking to develop a visual language that feels truly her own. Her work is fuelled by her Indian, Sikh and Punjabi heritage, and through the MA, she has developed a new maturity in depicting human relationships and magical moments.

She finds her greatest inspiration in the curiosity of children and the ingenious ways they build their worlds. In an age of shrinking attention spans, her goal is to create immersive stories that celebrate ‘the slow life’ and ignite a lifelong joy of reading.

Terrace Tales

Terrace Tales is a wordless concertina rooted in Anantjeet’s childhood memories of Indian rooftop terraces. Using screen printing and a limited three-colour palette, it combines observation and memory rooted in culture to depict terraces as vibrant spaces of play, community, and solitude.

Manjas For Everyone

A picture book for ages 6–8 celebrating the disappearing craft of weaving traditional Punjabi cots. Through a girl and her grandmother, the story shows how constructive communal activities, skills, and shared labour transform a simple object into a beautiful one of pride, connection, and collective care.
