Charlotte Fairclough
(She/Her)
Charlotte is an illustrator from Lancashire who for the last 10 years has worked as a primary school teacher in London.
She enjoys anything spooky, mysterious, or mischievous and likes to explore these themes in a playful, humorous way. Charlotte’s favourite part of each project has been immersing herself in the world of the story, and chewing over problems until vague ideas take shape, like a jigsaw puzzle. She has loved the creative challenge of using every part of the book-from the images, to the text, to the endpapers- to add detail and depth to the narrative. Her current media of choice are transfer monoprint and TetraPak, for the atmosphere they can create.
Completing the MA has enabled Charlotte to use her imagination in a way she has not done since childhood, and she looks forward to having plenty more opportunities to do so!
