Chloe French Nelson

Chloe is an illustrator and author from California, currently based in Cambridge. After many years as a singer-songwriter, she aims to add poetry and whimsy to the everyday. She works with traditional media and printmaking, and observational drawing is foundational to her practice.

Chloe’s inspiration includes old movies, limited colour palettes, and vintage children’s books. She combines the humorous and the lyrical, exploring themes of loss, found community, friendship, and music in her storytelling.

You can find her most days in the print room, where she discovered offset monoprinting, lithography, and the risograph machine. Otherwise, she enjoys going to concerts and sketching, preferably at the same time.
