Hesper Qian
(She/Her)
Hesper Qian is an illustrator from China. She studied at the China Academy of Art and, after graduating, worked at a cultural company in Hangzhou, creating illustrations for children’s magazines, picture books, and board games. She went on to pursue an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Anglia Ruskin University.
Her work is driven by curiosity about the world and a love of storytelling. She enjoys a wide variety of stories, and her mind is always filled with imaginative and whimsical ideas. Everyday life, films, books, and music are all sources of inspiration for her. Hesper enjoys exploring different materials and techniques, letting each project find its own voice. As a result, her approach to illustration remains fluid—sometimes complex and rich in detail, and at other times more open and atmospheric.
