James Wilson-Knight
(he/him)
James Wilson-Knight is an illustrator based in the UK. He completed his undergraduate degree in illustration and animation. Since then, he has been a freelance illustrator alongside wonderful different jobs.
James has always enjoyed creating dark and mysterious artwork entwined with humour, with a sense of narrative running throughout. This course has allowed him to explore a more playful side in his art, too.
James draws inspiration from film, myth, folklore and fantasy, alongside everyday life and the lessons it brings. Using texture and negative space, he plays with a range of different materials and techniques, working in black and white, and colour. He loves to play with tension, humour and meaningful moments through printmaking and inks. He has enjoyed experimenting, especially in printmaking where he discovered his love for Tetra Pak.

The Land of Giants, Monsters and Men
Giants, Monsters and Men come out in the day, so a child must come out at night so as not to be seen. However, one night the child is heard by a Giant, and they interact for the first time. This is a gentle story about connection and trust.
RUN!
All Frog wants is a big juicy fly, but he hits Hippo by mistake. He does not apologise and runs away! Hippo chases causing more incidents, and more animals join the chase. It is about learning to say sorry instead of just running away, in a fun and silly manner.
The Fin
This story is about a fisherman being followed by what looks like a shark fin. He ignores it, worries about it, but it gets worse and he must face it in the end. The Fin is about facing your fears and realising they are not as bad as they seem.
