Jinghan Qiao
(She/Her)
Jinghan Qiao is a children’s book illustrator from China. She graduated from the Picture Book Studio at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2023 and later completed her MA at the Cambridge School of Art.
She has been creating picture books for over five years and is a little obsessed with them. Jinghan loves building stories through images and is especially drawn to capturing a certain feeling of childhood—quiet, playful, and slightly magical moments that are hard to put into words.
She enjoys experimenting with mixed media, often combining printmaking with soft pastels, watercolours, and gouache, mixing and rearranging materials until the visuals feel just right for each story. Jinghan hopes to keep creating warm and fun picture books, sharing stories that bring readers comfort, hope, or simply a small smile.

A fish in the sea feels unpopular because of how it looks. So it imagines swimming into the human world, where it gets more and more attention. Lost in this strange new place, it searches for who it is and where it belongs—until it realises that being itself in the sea was the best answer all along.
