Katharine Atkins

(She/her)

Katharine was delighted to return to Art on the CSACBI MA after a gap of thirty-five years.

Formerly she worked on large-scale mosaic and stained glass, though now she has adopted collage as her medium of choice, as it allows her to use bold and colourful shapes while keeping her work analogue. In it she reflects her love of travel and family, cats and gardens. If life was a children's story it might be called Topsy Turvey World.

Katharine’s concern with the current global order makes her worry for our children's futures. Art can support community-led activism, and rail against the depersonalising influence of global corporate interest. She believes that Art can be an instrument against injustice at a time when speaking truth to power is more important than ever.
