Ronice Appleby

(She/her)

Ronice is an artist and illustrator based in Cambridge/South East UK. In her illustrations, she likes to portray moments from the real world with a hint of fun and whimsy. Usually told through the eyes of anthropomorphic characters, she likes to bend the everyday and find moments of magic and connection. She often draws inspiration from British nature and nostalgic material, such as ‘traditional’ 20th Century storybooks that resonates with others and her own childhood memories. Since being on the MA, Ronice has been working closely on character interactions, and capturing light and atmosphere in her settings.

Ronice likes to work with traditional dry media; her favourite outcomes to date have been from combining soft pastels and coloured pencils, that give her work a soft warmth and coziness that feels welcoming to her audience.
